Fernando started working at the law firm in 2014. Before attending law school at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, he attended Gonzaga College High School and the University of Maryland in College Park. Fernando gained valuable experience while in law school as a student-attorney of the nationally recognized University of Maryland Law Clinic. While in law school Fernando also served as an Academic Achievement Teaching Fellow, Manuscripts Editor of the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class, and Received an Environmental Law Certificate. In addition, Fernando was a member of the UMD Carey Law Team that competed in the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition.
Fernando’s work experience has also given him a strong foundation as an attorney. Fernando is an Americorps Alumni, who has worked with various legal organizations including, The Maryland Legal Aid Bureau, and The Community Law Center. Furthermore, while in law school Fernando served as a research assistant to the distinguished Professor Rena Steinzor.
Fernando has also been honored for his commitment to the community, having received a Citation from the Governor of Maryland, and Presidential Volunteer Service Award. Fernando is a native speaker of the Spanish language.
